Competitive title Mobile Legends most prestigious in Indonesia, Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) is ready to be held again. This time, Moonton will present MPL Indonesia Season 2.
MPL Indonesia Season 1 itself has successfully invited more than 78 thousand people to Taman Anggrek Mall in the Grand Final, 300 thousand people live stream / concurrent viewers, and 12 million unique viewers on the exclusive Facebook platform.
Indonesia MPL Season 2 Tournament System
MPL Indonesia Season 2, entitled Break Your Limit will use a slightly different tournament system from Season 1.
If the participating teams from MPL Indonesia Season 1, whose ten teams come from online qualifications, MPL Indonesia Season 2 uses the Direct Invite system as a form of appreciation for teams that excel during Season 1.
In addition, this system is also used so that the MPL event between seasons can also be more sustainable.
However, the online qualifiers in Season 2 will still be used to provide opportunities for new teams. Later, there will be 2 online qualifying rounds with the following schedule:
- Qualifier 1 (Q1) to be held on the date 8-10 June 2018
- Qualifier 2 (Q2) to be held on the date 22-24 June 2018
The match format that will be used in this qualifier phase is Bo1 before the quarter-finals and Bo3 for the quarter-finals to the winner’s determination.
The registration period for the first qualification (Q1) will open on 30 May 2018.
Top 3 teams from Q1 and Q2 will get a chance to compete in Final Qualifier which will be held on 6-8 July 2018.
Apart from the 6 teams from Q1 and Q2, 4 teams in the rankings of 5-8 from the Grand Final of MPL Indonesia Season 1 will immediately get the opportunity to compete here. So, the Final Qualifier round will display 10 teams (6 of the qualifiers and 4 Direct Invite) which will compete in the Round Robin (Bo1) format.
From the Final Qualifier round, 6 teams with the highest rank will qualify for the Regular Season together with 4 teams at the top of the MPL Indonesia Season 1 Grand Final.
The schedule for the Regular Season MPL Indonesia Season 2 has also been determined as follows:
- Week 1: 7-9 September 2018
- Week 2: September 14-16, 2018
- Week 3: September 28-30 2018
- Week 4: 5-7 October 2018
- Week 5: 12-14 October 2018
- Week 6: 19-21 October 2018
Prize Pool and Distribution
MPL Indonesia Season 2 has prepared a total prize pool of US $ 100 thousand. The distribution of prizes in the Grand Final phase will be announced at a later date but Moonton has determined the distribution of prizes during the Regular Season.
Each team competing in the Regular Season will get accommodation money of US $ 300 per week.
Each winning point during the Regular Season will also get a cash prize that is slightly different from Season 1 (because now it will use the Bo3 format) with the following distribution:
- The team that is able to win instantly with a score of 2-0 will immediately get a prize US $ 600.
- In addition, each team’s winning points will be worth US $ 200.
Streaming and Creative Competition
If in Season 1 only the Grand Final uses English caster, every match starting from the Qualifier round in Season 2 will feature 2 types of streaming with casters in Indonesian and English.
In addition, Moonton also held a Creative Competition for participating teams here. Each team will be required to create creative content in the form of videos which will be distributed on the official Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) distribution channel.
The winner of this creative competition will later get a prize of US $ 2500.
This creative content competition is intended to open exposure wider range of teams that participate in Mobile Legends.
